When tourists come to Staten Island, they often hit the ferry terminal on the north shore and immediately turn around to head back to Manhattan. Ask New Yorkers about Staten Island, and they’ll often scoff at “the forgotten borough.” Why would you want to live there?? they ask.

Well, let me tell you. Actually, let me show you:

Adama and Solomon Fassah have become our dear friends, and I was thrilled to work with them, Napela, and Chris at SI Arts to produce this short video to fundraise for new tents. And guess what? They hit the streets and the web and raised more than $3000. Here’s the inauguration:
